This project was initiated by the Queensland State Government based on the need for a dedicated cruise terminal facility for Brisbane.  Multiplex won the bid as developer for the project in March 2003 with a proposal to develop the 3.26 hectare site into a mixed use residential, office, hotel and retail development incorporating the Brisbane Cruise Terminal.

As Senior Development Manager, Ryan Andersen maintained responsibility for all aspects of the project and liaised closely with the Queensland State Government to administer the Development Agreement which was negotiated to ensure the State’s outcomes were realised.  The project was completed in August 2006 accepting the first cruise ship just days after practical completion.

In addition to his development role, Ryan Andersen also performed the role of asset manager for a period of 2 years post completion on behalf of the owner, Brookfield Multiplex Developments.  This included management of the operations team, marketing of the facility and negotiations with cruise operators to ensure that the asset continued to operator efficiently whilst delivering the desired financial returns to the owner.
