Australia is the most urbanised economy in the western world.  Population growth and the continued ‘urban drift’ of people to metropolitan centres is driving the need to provide increased numbers of dwellings through urban renewal, rather than through urban sprawl.  Happily, improved transportation and distribution systems have driven ports, rail yards, and other major infrastructure facilities out of central urban areas and created the opportunity for ‘urban renewal’ and the provision of transit oriented development, or TOD, to service the need for such dwellings. 

DMA Partners has worked on a majority of the TOD and urban renewal developments in South-East Queensland – as both consultants to the public sector and as private sector developers.  These projects are typically large, mixed-use, staged, infrastructure intensive that are costly, political and involve many levels of stakeholders.  The experience of DMA Partners on these projects is both unusual and valuable to clients contemplating or reviewing such initiatives.
