David has joined the DMA Partners team as an Associate and is a highly skilled senior project manager with a hands-on approach. He brings to the role 19 years’ experience spanning across the retail, commercial, tourism and leisure industries after holding a senior position with John Clarke & Associates.

David has extensive experience in delivering a wide range of projects of varying sizes and values, and has been involved in all stages of the project lifecycle from inception and conception through to practical completion.

David has also worked on international projects including water parks and resorts in Beijing and Nanjing, sporting stadiums in Papua New Guinea and various other global attractions. David’s experience expands upon DMA’s ability to create world class ‘destinations’ focused on the guest experience as well as the commercial feasibility of the project.

DMA Partners Managing Director Ryan Andersen said David’s appointment was driven by the growing trend for consumers to choose experiences over material items, particularly in the retail space.

“At DMA we intend on being at the forefront of this trend,” said Ryan.

“DMA has built a strong capability in delivering experiential based assets such as hotels and retail shopping centres over the past 10 years.

“David brings with him the necessary knowledge and experience to create and deliver leisure and experience offerings which many of our retail clients are starting to ask for more and more.”

Recently, David travelled to Hong Kong to attend the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Trade Show. Over 8,000 leisure and attractions industry professionals, including operators, suppliers, investors and developers attended from all over the world. The event showcased new and innovative products and services and gave attendees the opportunity to network with global leaders in the industry.

David said the conference in Hong Kong offered a great opportunity to see what’s new in the industry and which suppliers were thinking beyond reality.

“VR entertainment in particular had a huge showing at the conference this year,” said David.

“It was great to catch up with our colleagues at FORREC from Toronto and see the fantastic projects they are currently working on, as one of the world’s best master planning companies, their projects certainly lead the way in this industry.”
