Ryan has an excellent record in the successful project and development management of large scale mixed-use, residential and retail projects. Graduating with honours from his Bachelor of Civil Engineering in the mid 1990s, Ryan worked as a structural engineering consultant and quickly progressed to a field based project management role on engineering projects around Australia and New Zealand.

Ryan then moved into a project management role at Westfield Design & Construction in early 2000 where he project managed the successful tenancy delivery and opening of 5 major retail redevelopments around Australia. These included Westfield Chermside, Burwood, Fountain Gate, Hornsby and North Lakes. This led to a more senior role as the State Leasing Coordinator responsible for the commercial management of new lease deals in Westfield’s Queensland portfolio including Chermside, Toombul, Carindale, Strathpine plus Liverpool (Sydney).

In mid 2003, Ryan commenced with Brookfield Multiplex Developments and assumed responsibility for the Portside Wharf development, a mixed-use residential, retail and cruise terminal project in Hamilton, Brisbane with an end-value of $1.3 billion. Ryan was responsible for all aspects of the project from land acquisitions, planning, design, construction, marketing, sales & leasing and successful delivery to enable final settlement of the residential apartments and operation of the retail and cruise terminal facilities. This role also included managing finance and stakeholder relationships, particularly with the Qld State Government and the external board of the Brisbane Cruise Terminal.

In 2007, Ryan moved into the Retail Division as Project Director of Retail Property (Qld), in which he was responsible for the strategic management of Brookfield Multiplex’s Queensland retail development portfolio which included the retail and cruise terminal assets at Portside Wharf. This role further developed Ryan’s expertise in strategic business planning and implementation, project planning and delivery, retail asset management, major tenant negotiations as well as his strong understanding of mixed-use and retail property assets.
